Thinking About.....

I was just wondering how poetry can be so depictive even if it sounds crap... 
Like if I write crap something like this: 

I am black, you are white, 
You be the milk, I be the Marie Lite...
How these two lines can tell you a story?
Maybe something like this: 
The poet wants to say that racism should not be a barrier between love. The creed must not be categorized and the feelings should be pure. 
The poet says that she is the milk, which denotes the race of the female character...but he says that he is marie lite which means he wants to soak in her arms and feel the love. In this way the poet depicts a tale of two people separated by race but connected by hearts.....
