Loving A Reader

We mostly talk about falling for a writer but here I want to show you, how it feels to fall for a reader.......

She’s a voyage, worth experiencing. She isn’t a culprit of ephemeralness. I have seen her drowned into novels in the silence wrapped library, watching her emotions slowly oozing through her eyes or dancing on her lips as she twists and turns along with the plot of the story. Her silence is too loud, probably louder than the faint humming of the clock.....
There are times when she riffles all the pages and crashes into the end of the book probably to check if her favorite character will be walking with her till the last onslaught of the fate or not but something magical, probably an invisible force chains her curiosity, pushes her back, just like the diurnal waves pushes the Sea Birds, make them flutter, hindering their usual task of finding sea shells on the sands. Her sudden smiles on certain aspects bring warmth to the cold, gloomy library, as if the song the spring, after a long winter, as if a rose slowly blooming......
Sometimes she just gazes at the book. I know, during those moments, her thoughts are naked and seductive, floating far away, riding her imaginations, far away over the vast fields of eclectic human desires, far away in a land with the protagonist of the novel. And when the naughty summer breeze can’t chain its avarice to play with her hair, making a cobweb on her brown skin, as she gets busy with the fluttering pages, oh how badly I want to depict all the Italian sonneteers who praised only Golden hair embellishing fair skin, that black hair and brown skin can make somebody a goddess too, I want to call the Goddess of sea and ask if there is any beautiful coral tantamount to the beauty of her lips.......
And at the end I know loving her won’t be easy, making my own space in her heart won’t be easy. I will be compared with all her favorite characters from hundreds of novels and yet loving a reader is beautiful, a beauty that very few will understand.......
