Another Fantastic Year is about to end...

2016 was a super year for women in Hindi cinema with Neerja, Pink, Dangal, Kahaani 2. We had lots of terrific performances - Alia Bhat, Anushka Sharma, Vidya Balan, Radhika Apte and of course Sonam Kapoor. But did anyone notice the instances of role reversal? Actors were gleefully objectified in films like Baaghi, Rocky Handsome and of course Dishoom - that money shot of Varun Dhawan and John Abraham in the pool! Meanwhile, women refused to play by the rules - so in One Night Stand, Sunny Leone's character only wants a one-night stand but the man becomes obsessed with her. In Befikre also, the woman wasn't interested in anything long term. And of course in Ki & Ka, it was a literal role reversal with the husband as a homemaker! Clearly hawa badal rahi hai !
